v. 11 Jesus gave thanks. I wonder just how Jesus gave thanks. Did he demand attention from the crowd and say a prayer that all could hear? Or, did Jesus just say a silent prayer? Or perhaps Jesus just gave thanks with His disciples. I don't think it was a silent prayer.
I'm pretty sure that the prayer was sincere. Jesus knew the Father very very well didnt He? When we give thanks before our meals ... are we thanking Someone that we know very well? Or are we quickly reciting well worn words? Lets remember to be sincere. After all, we are talking to the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords who has blessed us. And, we are also talking to the One who loved me so much that He deliberatly... knowingly and with purpose picked Judas as his disciple. (v 70) Surely I can pause long enough before I eat to say a sincere thanks.
