I wonder how important verses and songs are that we learn as children. Today, on the radio, I heard a preacher repeat the words to a song he had learned as a child. He said that even though the theology in the song wasn't perfect, it still instilled in him the sense that a christian should have a positive outlook on life. Often, I notice myself humming the words to one of the songs that I had learned in Sunday school. As I read chapter 4 of John, I found myself attempting to sing one of those old songs;
"Like the woman at the well
I was seeking;
For things that could not satisfy.
And, then, I heard my Saviour calling
'drink from this cup, that never shall run dry'
Take my cup Lord
Fill it up Lord
Come and quench this yearning of my soul.
Bread of Heaven,
Fill me till I want no more
Take my cup, fill it up, and make me whole"
Wow... Now that I compare that little song to the story in the Bible, I think it does a good job of getting accross the message. And, it has stuck with me. Its important that Gods word is in our hearts...and in our minds.

V39 "many... believed in Him because of the womans testimony"
The woman certainly would not have had all the answers... she didn't know theology.... But, she had met Jesus. She told people about her encounter with the messiah. Thats what we need do... We need tell people that, we too, have have met Jesus.
Am I excited enough about knowing Jesus, that I 'bother' to tell anyone? (shame on me for all the opportunities that I miss)
